We are recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend - Node.js/TypeScript) to join Alpheya.

This will be a 12 month contract with possibility of converting to full time and / or relocate to Abu Dhabi in the future.

This will be a hybrid remote role, with few days per week in a coworking space in Warsaw to meet with the squad, and potential travel to Abu Dhabi as needed for important collaboration touchpoints with wider team (e.g., PI Planning).

We are looking for candidates based in Poland, candidates must have the right to work in this country.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions. Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance applications while ensuring scalability and efficiency. You will be a key player in driving technological growth, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to architectural decisions.

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: Lead the design and development of robust and scalable software solutions in a Node.js environment. Implement clean, maintainable, and efficient code (using TypeScript).
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members. Promote best practices in software development, including agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Architecture and Strategy: Contribute to architectural discussions and strategy, focusing on optimizing for performance and scalability. Implement and advocate for advanced software design patterns and architectural principles.
• Problem-Solving and Innovation: Tackle complex technical challenges and drive innovation. Proactively identify and address system bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Orchestration and Coordination: Expertly manage orchestration and coordination in event-driven architectures, ensuring efficient workflow and service communication.
• Security and Compliance: Uphold and advance security best practices. Ensure compliance with industry security standards in application development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Node.js and TypeScript.
• Advanced knowledge of Node.js internals, such as event loop, non-blocking I/O, and module system.
• Strong experience with software design and architecture in a Node.js environment.
• Proficiency in network programming, with a deep understanding of REST and GraphQL.
• Experience with database systems, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding of core data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in orchestrating and coordinating in event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of security principles related to web applications and APIs.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the fintech domain, especially in banking or wealth management.
• Experience with additional technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure, or CI/CD tools.
