Senior Print Shop Specialist

The Office of Skyhawk Printing at the University of Tennessee at Martin invites applications for a Senior Print Shop Specialist. This position designs, prints, and costs jobs for the Print Supervisor II. The position provides backup support for Mail Services as needed. Selected candidate must work well independently and in collaboration with others in a fast-paced office environment. The Print Shop Supervisor II supervises this position.

•    Plan and design graphic designs jobs, including ADA-compliant sign jobs.  Ensure jobs are approved and meet the quality standards of the university and customer.
•    Operation of digital press and printers and large-format printing jobs. Work closely with rotary engraver machine, digital presses, color printers, large format printers, and finishing equipment.  
•    Review work orders for both graphic design and signs to make sure jobs are done in a timely manner.  Coordinate with other departments and outside customers to determine their requirements.
•    Sort and deliver mail, run mail routes.  
•    Create deposits.
•    Perform other duties as assigned by Print Shop supervisor and department head.

Minimum Qualifications:                                                                                                                                                                         
•    High school diploma and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
•    Experience with MS Office
•    Experience with design software - skill and ability to produce excellent graphic designs and signs.
•    Ability to drive a van and a golf cart, valid driver’s license.
•    Ability to lift packages and mail.

independently beyond direct assignments, project a positive, courteous, customer-oriented personality, be self-motivated, and pay attention to details and proofing to meet customer expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    1 year with digital printing equipment
•    2 years with graphic design
•    Experience with FileMaker Pro
•    Experience with Adobe Professional Software, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator
•    Knowledge of ADA related to print design
•    Ability to operate digital presses, finishing equipment, and duplicating machines
•    College degree in related field
