Work Experience Description:

Suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of food preparation and service functions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Sets up food service and kitchen area facilities, equipment and utensils, under detailed instruction and, in accordance with specific area needs.

  • Assists in the preparation of hot and cold meat and vegetable dishes, beverages, salads, sandwiches, simple bakery items, salad dressings, and/or other similar food items, as appropriate to the position.

  • Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food lines.

  • Cleans, washes, and maintains sanitary work areas.

  • Interacts with customers to take orders, receive payments, and answer questions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

All student employees who work at Food Services will receive a free meal for every shift worked.
