Illusion Makers combine creative vision with advanced technical expertise to craft, assemble, and integrate mechanical and electrical systems, bringing imaginative concepts to life. By collaborating closely with engineering teams, these professionals support the design and installation of mock-ups and prototypes for new or renovated attractions at various locations. This role demands deep expertise in mechanical and/or electrical trades, hands-on proficiency, and a talent for both system design and integration.

This role will report to the Illusion Production Manager.

This is a Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do:

• Participates in project objectives
• Identification and mitigation of risk in the production of animation
• Provides technical oversight to outside vendors that are contracted to produce animation
• Provides direct input into and review of company technical standards for the production of animation
• Guides the effort of developing conceptual technical designs for animation
• Participates in Post Turnover Support (PTS) activities as needed
• Identifies issues and develops mitigation plans towards long term resolution (i.e.; practices, process, guidelines, standards)
• Provides direct input into a review of company standards relative to the design and production of animation
• Develops, introduces and oversees new ideas to enhance work processes and demonstrates the initiative/drive to carry through to implementation
• Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts & draws valid conclusions, to prioritize and work in multi-tasked, multi-disciplinary environment
• Constructively evaluates the work product of both inside production organizations as well as outside vendor
• Advance knowledge of key partners and their engagement points
• Guides the initial and on-going project estimating and scheduling efforts
• Compares alternatives and determines the proper course of action
• Establish guidelines, procedures and standards    

Required Qualifications & Skills

In one or both areas -

Mechanical:

• Experience working in collaborative, cross-disciplinary technical environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with AWS standards and welding techniques, including AWS D1.1 and D1.6.
• Ability to perform machining tasks using manual and CNC tools; experience in CNC machine programming (MasterCam knowledge preferred).
• Ability to use and interpret calibrated assembly and measurement equipment (such as torque wrenches and calipers).
• Proficiency with engineering software tools, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or BIM 360.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support global project requirements.

Electrical:

• Design and development of electrical assemblies and systems, including producing wiring diagrams, wiring lists, and connector schedules.
• Understanding of electronic and electrical design principles.
• Electro-mechanical assembly skills.
• Competence in wiring, terminating, and troubleshooting complex assemblies and systems.
• Proficiency in advanced set-up and repair using diagnostic techniques, equipment, and software.
• Knowledge of UL Compliance related to the product line.
