Disposition Specialist

 

Position Title: Disposition Specialist

Annual Salary Range: $35,000 plus benefits

Geographic Location: Bartow, FL

Starting Date: immediately

 

Summary of Duties:

  • Identify individual client needs such as housing instability, transportation, mental health, substance use disorder, trauma, or other
  • Provide critical support to attorneys by addressing the social, psychological, and environmental factors impacting clients
  • Develop individualized care plans for clients to connect those clients with appropriate community resources and providers
  • Advocate for alternatives to incarceration such as diversion or rehabilitation programs
  • Support clients through the legal process to promote fair and just outcomes
  • Assist clients in learning how to access community resources and services
  • Work with attorney to coordinate community-based housing and treatment options for clients on conditional release plans
  • Maintain and update electronic client files
  • Make client referrals for services to other agencies as appropriate
  • Maintain liaison with community agencies and service organizations to connect clients with those community services

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience preferred but not required
  • Good knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to assist clients in accessing community resources and services
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to appraise and organize facts to present materials in written and oral form
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with office staff, clients, and the general public
  • Ability to manage a large caseload while maintaining adequate levels of communication and attention to individual clients
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field preferred
