Raytheon Field Engineering is currently seeking a Principal Specialist, Field Service Engineer to provide depot level technical support for a variety of airborne turreted Electro-Optical, Infra-Red (EO/IR) Sensors and Systems at Fleet Readiness Center South East (FRCSE) Depot on NAS Jacksonville in Jacksonville, FL.

This is a 1st (A) shift position with minimal Saturday work at the NAS Jacksonville location as needed.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct technical analysis of product functionality, modifications, and enhancements, troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and provide solutions to complex equipment related issues.
  • The engineer will be an integral member of a team of skilled field engineers supporting the customer at the depot level and in a depot environment. This position requires a willingness to learn depot processes and procedures and to develop a “hands-on” understanding of the equipment.
  • This position requires the candidate to work at an offsite Jacksonville location, known as AAR.  The workload will be an 80/20 split between AAR and NAS Jacksonville Depot location, with majority of the time spent at AAR.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience. May use experience in lieu of education.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with tools and test equipment used in electronic installation, maintenance, and test
  •  Experience conducting technical analysis of product functionality, modifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting system-level errors down to subassemblies and subcomponents based on system theory of operation, strong drawing and technical documentation reading skills.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.   (e.g. use of digital multi-meters and oscilloscopes in conjunction with electrical schematics to determine faulty components).
  • Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS) or other Navy Logistics systems.
  • Eight years of experience overseeing troubleshooting and operational checkout of Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) systems is desired and may substitute experience for education.

Special Work Requirements:  Working rotating shifts may be required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
