The Opportunity:

As a security operations center analyst, you’re in the middle of the action, responding to and mitigating threats in real time. You’re the first line of cyber defense for your organization, and they look to you for guidance on best practices and security measures. We need a Tier 1 SOC analyst like you to help us secure critical infrastructure from the constant onslaught of cyber attacks for defense. 

We are seeking a highly motivated SOC Tier 1 Analyst to join our Security Operations Center (SOC) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security threats in real time. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to grow their career in cybersecurity while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor security events and alerts from SIEM and other security tools.
• Perform initial triage of security incidents, including analysis of logs, network traffic, and endpoint activity.
• Escalate potential threats to Tier 2 analysts for further investigation.
• Document and report security incidents with detailed findings and recommendations.
• Support incident response activities, including containment and remediation actions.
• Assist in tuning security tools and improving detection capabilities.
• Stay up to date with emerging threats, attack techniques, and industry best practices.
• Follow SOC processes and procedures to ensure compliance with security policies and frameworks.

You’ll work with the team to understand, mitigate, and respond to threats quickly, restoring operations and limiting the impact. You’ll analyze incidents to figure out just how many systems are affected and assist recovery efforts. You’ll combine threat intelligence, event data, and assessments from recent events, and identify patterns to understand attackers’ goals to stop them from succeeding. You Have:

• 1+ years of experience in a SOC or IT security role
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Elastic, QRadar, or Azure Sentinel
• Experience with IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security tools
• Experience with analyzing and writing technical documentation
• Knowledge of incident response methodologies and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
• Knowledge of security concepts, including malware, network protocols, and attack vectors
• Ability to work in a 24/7 shift-based environment
• Ability to effectively communicate with a team
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, software engineering, information systems, or computer engineering

• Possession of strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Secret clearance
• Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
