Program Manager
Salary range: $123K-$185K
Reporting To:
US Chief Delivery Officer (CDO)
Primary Responsibilities:
The Program Manager (PM) will provide management and leadership direction for the design, development, and manufacturing of Avionics hardware including Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Units and mission Computers. These programs may be Customer defined or Internal Research and Development (IR&D) projects. The PM shall perform the following duties: 1) Manage all activities associated with the Development, Manufacturing, and Qualification Testing for DOD & Aerospace Contracts, 2) support proposal preparation in conjunction with business development personnel, and 3) Determine program requirements, budget and program control mechanisms utilizing Earned Value Techniques to effectively track and measure results, schedules, expenditures, labor and other aspects of the program.
The PM acts as a primary interface between the customer, corporate team members, and partners providing regular status on achieving assigned program goals and objectives. The individual must be able to plan, organize, and manage multiple programs / projects of varying size and complexity and support the preparation of proposals in response to both commercial and government RFPs including cost, schedule, and technical inputs.
Additional duties may include contract negotiations through contract award, presenting briefings to company and customer management, review and recommending process improvements for existing systems / products at Aitech, and preparation of business cases for new business.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a program, or project manager.
- Excellent with building and maintaining budget and schedule (driving on-time delivery and EVMS)
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of Military, Aerospace, and Space programs and requirements.
- A BS degree in a related field (Engineering discipline preferred)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Recommended Experience:
- Strong Team building and leadership skills.
- Effective at building relationship with customer
- Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional teamwork among Engineering, Operations and Quality.
- Ability to review customer Purchase Orders and Contract requirements with a focus on the implications for Aitech.
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to quickly assimilate new ideas and concepts and make good decisions for the program or project.
- Experience with Avionics and Control systems including integration of I/O products and embedded systems development will also be considered a plus.
- Direct experience in the specification and control of the Printed Circuit Board artwork process and Printed Wiring Board fabrication
- Experience with turning around troubled programs is a plus.
- Effective written, verbal, presentation and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Document Control and Configuration Management procedures
- Previous experience on Space Programs specifically with NASA is a plus.
