Position Summary
We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk II to support our accounting operations. This intermediate-level position is ideal for candidates with foundational accounting experience who are ready to expand their skillset in a collaborative environment.
The Accounting Clerk II is responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting reporting efforts in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy
- Support bank and account reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with invoice matching, payment processing, and vendor communications
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist in collections efforts
- Participate in month-end close and reporting support tasks
- Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Work closely with other departments to resolve billing or payment issues
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance team
Requirements
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical financial experience
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and general ledger structures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or service industry
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, QuickBooks)
- Basic knowledge of sales tax and multi-state compliance
