The Natalie L. Haslam College of Music at the University of Tennessee is seeking a Teaching Assistant Professor or Lecturer of Music Education: Strings and Digital Learning.  The ideal candidate will have completed or be enrolled in a Music Education or Education Doctoral program.

This candidate will teach in-person string methods courses, string education, and pedagogy classes, and oversee the UTK String Project.  Faculty member will also develop and teach graduate-level online courses for an anticipated hybrid or fully online Master’s in Music Education degree at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Additional duties may include string chamber music coaching and/or possibly applied string teaching.

Qualifications

Required:  MMEd degree. Doctorate or ABD status in a Music Education program. Undergraduate degree in Music Education or Performance with violin, viola, cello or bass as the primary instrument.

Preferred: Completed PhD in Music Education. Some professional string playing and/or teaching.  Experience in digital learning/pedagogy.
