Job Description

Position leads the University Scheduling and Conference Services office, orchestrating arrangements for events of all sizes from single day to large camps and conferences, including social events, weddings, and university functions emphasizing customer service, student recruitment and retention, revenue generation and optimizing resource utilization. Responsibilities include overseeing scheduling software, promoting university facilities and services, training and collaborating with university personnel, and contributing to the vision and mission of the Centennial Student Union and Student Activities, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, and University.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree and three (3) years, or Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in a full-time management position preferably in a collegiate scheduling environment or multi­purpose conference hospitality facility.

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing conference and event planning, execution, and delivery as it relates to marketing, public relations, website management, and business development.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize and understand technical computer applications and scheduling databases (EMS specifically) related to delivering services to students and constituents.

  • Demonstrated experiences in human resource management practices as they relate to the recruitment, selection, assessment, training and development of student and professional employees.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in team building and collaboration with varying partner groups to ensure timely and effective delivery of outcomes.

  • Demonstrated fiscal and business management experience, including revenue generation, transactions, and the implementation of annual budgets.

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills: demonstrated effectiveness in writing skillfully, speaking notably, and listening attentively.

Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.

Standard Office Environment for the majority of the workdays.


Participation in required weekend and evening events and projects to support and assist student employees, student leaders, recognized student groups, university colleagues and the general public will be determined with CSU administration on a case-by-case basis.
