ABOUT THE ROLE

The Staff Facilities Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, design, construction, and accreditation of secure and cleared spaces that meet all applicable security, physical, and environmental requirements for classified operations. This role ensures facilities fully comply with DoD, Intelligence Community, and customer standards, directly enabling mission support for classified programs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Serve as the subject matter expert on all secure facility builds, renovations, and technical upgrades for classified areas
• Develop technical requirements and facility specifications to meet accreditation standards and customer objectives
• Coordinate and oversee design reviews, construction, and integration of security features including access controls, alarms, sound attenuation, and TEMPEST requirements
• Work closely with internal facilities teams, security officers, government inspectors, and contractors to ensure standards compliance
• Lead all pre-construction planning, project scheduling, budgeting, and vendor procurement for secure builds
• Prepare accreditation packages, facilitate walkthroughs, and resolve findings to achieve facility certification and government approval
• Maintain detailed design documentation and as-built records for all classified spaces
• Provide technical guidance during ongoing maintenance, emergency repairs, and upgrades of secured spaces
• Support audits, periodic re-accreditations, and customer inspections as required
• All new and renovated facilities meet or exceed DoD/IC accreditation requirements and successfully certify on first government inspection
• Secure spaces are delivered on schedule and within budget, with clear documentation and minimal rework
• Rapid resolution of findings or deficiencies during accreditation, minimizing operational delays
• Maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation for all secured facilities
• Ongoing support and leadership for upgrades, expansions, and audits of classified space

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Active TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility
• Extensive experience in the design and construction of secure facilities (e.g., SCIFs, SAPFs, secure labs, vaults)
• In-depth knowledge of DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), DoD/IC construction standards, and ICS 705
• Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and vendor relationships for secure facilities builds
• Strong understanding of accreditation and inspection processes for classified spaces
• Exceptional cross-functional communication, technical documentation, and project management skills

US Salary Range$166,000—$220,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
