RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Account Management: Acts as the primary direct contact for assigned accounts within region
    • Negotiates commercial terms (price, volume, payment, delivery terms) in line with business targets.
    • Performs sales calls to existing and potential customers on a regular basis to facilitate growth in regional sales and profitability.
    • Identifies and builds relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers within the customer organization to increase our account penetration.
    • Provides monthly forecasting in SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) based on customer projections.
    • Establishes and updates account plans, including fulfillment of identified top measures.
    • Aligns approach with defined business models / service levels.
    • Works with technical services to organize customer meetings and programs.
    • Achieves target for receivables and past due payments. Utilizes contacts within the customer organizations that can support the credit department as needed.

  • Business Development
    • Supports development and implementation of our overall global business strategy and coordinates with regional stakeholders for developing a region-specific plan.
    • Works with stakeholders within our organization to identify trends and areas of opportunity.
    • Develops and documents project pipeline at assigned customers with aim to convert opportunities and initiatives into sales.
    • Negotiates contracts (non-disclosure agreements, supply agreements, service agreements, etc.) as necessary.

  • Communication
    • Document relevant customer interaction in CRM (MS Dynamics)
    • Develops report on relevant account activities and reviews on a monthly basis.
    • Participates in relevant conferences, technical seminars, trade meetings, etc. to make new contacts and identify new development opportunities
  • Other
    • Develops deep understanding of our products, including technical, supply chain, production aspects.
    • Coordinates and communicates with Customer Service, Supply Chain (e.g., S&OP), other functions (Product Management, Finance, Management etc.)
    • Mentors and assists with the development of less experienced account managers, Customer Service Representatives, and technical service personnel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.  Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of chemical or lubricants experience preferred, including 5+ years sales experience within lubricants or related industry preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, results orientation, and persistence
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM system)
  • Acts independently to apply comprehensive understanding of the business environment and objectives developing solutions while providing guidance and training to others.
