Job Title: Systems/Software Technical Lead – (F130 Electronic Engine Control)

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: Indianapolis, Indiana (Hybrid Schedule)

The Systems/Software Technical Lead – (F130 Electronic Engine Control) will have direct responsibility of leading a team of Systems engineers through the development, testing and qualifying airworthy/certified engine control software. 

In this role, the candidate ensures that all delivered products meet all program requirements by providing technical mentoring and leadership to the rest of team. You may be involved at any stage of a project lifecycle including the initial brief for a concept, the design and development stage, testing and verification.

\You'll usually work in project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering.  The B-52/F130 program EEC Systems/Software Lead will require project management and engineering experience, with a focus on Customer integration, collaboration across functional groups, delivery of key engineering & schedule milestones, and meeting all budget targets.

The Rolls-Royce F130 is the engine selected to power the B-52J, the U.S.’s iconic strategic bomber.  The F130 is the military designation of the BR725 engine, a proven commercial engine which will require some adaptation for integration into the Boeing B-52 platform.  Low-rate initial production is slated for 2029, which is proceeded by the integration, prototyping, test and production stand-up of the F130 in Indianapolis.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Perform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional and physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for enclosure.
  • Collaborate with electronics engineering to develop enclosures that jointly meet electronic and mechanical requirements and guidelines
  • Support creation of detailed drawings and model-based definition and support project/manufacturing to procure conforming hardware
  • Orchestrate Technical Review/Design Review and communicate solutions with the project/customer: develop technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutions
  • Assure compliance with applicable product certification requirements (i.e. RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810)

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Physics) with 5+ years of experience in Systems design, OR
  • Master's degree in STEM discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Physics) with 3+ years of experience in Systems design, OR
  • JD/PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering or Business Management
  • In order to be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen
