The Maintenance Lead is responsible for maintaining the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition for the property while serving as a working lead for the maintenance team. This role performs hands-on maintenance work and assists management by coordinating daily work activities, prioritizing service requests, and ensuring all work meets resort standards.
Major Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Inspect the property to identify units, systems, or areas requiring maintenance or repair and report work needed to Management.
- Serve as a working lead, assisting with prioritizing service requests and helping to establish daily work schedules to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Follow up on assigned work to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently, thoroughly, and in accordance with resort standards.
- Perform a variety of light maintenance duties including Painting, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical work, Preventive maintenance
- Assist with training and guiding maintenance staff on proper repair methods, safety practices, and quality expectations.
- Maintain pool chemicals, filters, pumps, and plumbing according to established guidelines.
- Assist with seasonal duties, including moving beach chairs and umbrellas to and from the beach when needed.
- Be available to respond to after-hours or emergency maintenance issues as directed by Management.
- Promote a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for guests, residents, and staff.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the property in all types of weather conditions.
- Requires significant physical activity including walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, reaching above shoulder height, grasping, gripping, turning, and lifting.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in a resort, hotel, or multi-property environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, or support other maintenance staff.
- General knowledge of building systems, equipment, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
