Essential Responsibilities
- Provide Technical Leadership of a small group of Engineers and Contractors in activities related to analyses, calculations and technical evaluations required for timely resolution of design and implementation issues
- Manage project work schedules and priorities
- Mentor and provide technical leadership in area of expertise to other engineers and projects
- Work within a team environment to execute work plans within budget and schedule
- Support civil systems design and/or equipment construction activities, respond to vendor questions and deviation requests; review and approve vendor document submittals
- Support the certification processes for GE Products (e.g. BWRX-300, VTR, Natrium) to address all US NRC (or other nuclear regulator) design certification requirements
- Establish and maintain technical oversight of the applicable regulations (e.g., US, other national, or global region)
- Have other duties as assigned by Manager
- Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues
- Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents
- Support GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and
- Manage the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a technology or engineering role
Eligibility Requirements
- The preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University
- Minimum of 5-8 years of Nuclear or Industrial Technology or Engineering experience is preferred.
- Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience
- Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentals
- Strong communication and writing skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
- Strong facilitation, team building, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of project management.
- Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)
- Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills
- Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity.
- Detail-oriented and accountable for results.
- Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment
- A self-starter willing to take initiative
- Professional Engineer registration in one or more states
The base pay range for this position is $112,000-$160,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday, November 7th.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
