Principal Architect – Quality Engineering

A 3Cloud Quality Architect is a motivated self-starter that wants to grow as we grow. You will be responsible for developing solutions for Quality Engineering such as Quality strategy, technical testing approach, estimation, process improvements and showing value through quality and testing services. This role is a technical client-facing role that will be accountable for end-to-end quality and delivering business value for our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in client-facing roles and have success leading technical discussions in regard to Quality with senior executives that drive key decisions and implementation. This position participates in ongoing internal training development, practice growth and provides sales support.

Impact & Responsibilities:

• Define and implement Quality Engineering processes for a program and project level for assigned client(s)
• Knowledgeable in Quality Engineering best practices and can define quality and testing strategy
• Experience in Quality assessment and transformation initiatives
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
• Design and implement test plan.
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts.
• Knowledgeable in Quality Engineering, Automation testing, Database testing and Mobile testing
• Lead requirement review process
• Lead Defect management and triage process
• Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends, and new testing tools and test strategies.
• Recognize and navigate difficult client environments.
• Provide support for sales pursuits, discovery and proposals.
• Leads and facilitates workshops with client to develop strategies and roadmaps.
• Leads or provides architectural leadership on multiple projects.
• Ability to perform quality and automation audits.
• Provide guidance and mentorship for QE team members.
• Participate in ongoing QE group activities such as training, recruiting, staffing and other practice activities.
• Technical thought leadership internal and/or external to 3Cloud

Position Requirements: 

• Has earned a degree from an accredited university in a Computer Science or adjacent field, or holds a relevant certification from a recognized organization, OR
• 10+ years of experience in Quality (Quality engineering, Test automation, Data testing, performance testing and mobile testing)
• Has a solid understanding of testing principles and methodologies
• Ability to write scripts at the database level
• Experience in programming languages such as C# and Python
• Experience working in an Agile team
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Strong knowledge of Git, pull requests, branching, and other source control concepts
• Understands CI/CD and build pipelines
• Experience with SQL and data testing is preferred
• Experience with Azure is a big plus
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Familiarity with the services offered by cloud platform providers. Azure strongly preferred.
