Ultrasound Technologist

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic Ultrasound examinations to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician under the direction of a Radiologist. Performs abdominal, retroperitoneal, OB/GYN, small part scans and ultrasound guided procedures, such as cyst aspirations. Must be able to recognize the difference between normal and abnormal images.
Work Schedule: Ultrasound Casual as needed including dayshift, evening shift, night and weekend call.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited two-year allied health program or two years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences and completion of a formal medical Sonography training program (one-year minimum) or equivalent experience
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical sonographer) via ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
- Registered Vascular Technologist/Vascular Technology (RVT/VT) Certification within 180 days of employment via ARDMS or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) via CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
- If employment involves Breast Ultrasound, then Breast Certification(BR) via ARDMS required within 180 days of employment.
- If employment involves OB Clinic rotation, then OB Certification (OB/GYN) via ARDMS required within 180 days of employment.
- Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to answer patient's questions, helping them to understand the procedure
- Ability to accurately operate and maintain the imaging equipment and recognize the difference between normal and abnormal images
- Minimum of one-year clinical experience in Ultrasound
