Emerging Technology Intern

Job Description:

As an Emerging Technology Summer Intern with Vertex Inc, you will learn to identify how new technology can be leveraged to create business opportunities. In this role, you will research technology and develop white papers that assess how Vertex can leverage it. You will also develop related business proposals. 
  

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: 
•Research key technologies that connect to the technology strategy and may apply now or in the future to Vertex 
•Explore how they can be applied, the market landscape, and the competitive landscape 
•Update internal portal with research and educational materials 
•Provide readouts to the team on what is found and how it may apply 
•Open to exploring some of the technologies to get a deeper understanding of them 
•Identification and use of automation tools to aid in the tracking and scanning 
•Coordinate, execute, and track projects according to delivery schedule. 
•Works collaboratively with team leadership on defining and refining the overall project roadmap, the necessary milestones and delivery timing.

•Demonstrated research skillset 
•Highly curious in areas of Researching and Technology tracking 
•Highly energetic with ability to work independently and with minimal direction. 
•Written and verbal communicative skills. 
•Detail-oriented, highly organized, and creative. 
•Proven record of providing excellent customer service. 
 
Education, Training: 
•Applicants should be pursuing a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree through an Accredited University - preferably students at a junior level or senior level in Bachelor’s 
•Majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or related field 
•Show a demonstrated interest in the Researching and Technology tracking and a passion for the Vertex brand
