This is a hybrid role position with a combination or remote work and 2-3 days in our office located at 21 Custom House, Boston, MA  

NielsenIQ is a leading market research firm. Our Financial Services team provides alternative data products to both buy-side and sell-side financial institutions through first-party and third-party data sets.  

NielsenIQ’s Sales team is focused on growing revenue, finding new business opportunities and market penetration.  Sales is NielsenIQ’s growth engine which is instrumental for the company’s success.   

NielsenIQ is looking for a Sales Associate with 1+ years of experience in sales, marketing or client success, preferably to the investment community. Candidates must be passionate about capital markets, data and technology. Candidates must also be very comfortable interacting with senior salespeople, prospects and other stakeholders over the phone and in person.  

Responsibilities:  

  • Develop understanding of our potential customers, their industry/business and their needs. 

  • Research potential customers, understanding their investment process, areas of concentration and where we can add value to their research process 

  • Develop creative content to be used on outbound email efforts based on sales insight, persona and product fit 

  • Work closely with research and other junior salespeople each week to create research bullets for clients 

  • Effectively pitch products and solutions to key decision makers at all levels of a prospect's organization by understanding their needs and demonstrating how NielsenIQ solutions can meet their requirements  

  • Conduct outbound prospecting activities (phone calls, email, social media, attend tradeshows) into target markets / accounts to identify, connect and engage (schedule meetings) with decision makers in order to generate qualified, sales-ready leads  

  • Manage a pipeline of leads for senior salespeople from initial outreach to meeting/call.  

  • Meet and exceed key activity and performance metrics for calls, emails, social touches, appointments scheduled, conversion to opportunity, and beyond  

  • Maintain accurate CRM records of all lead and prospecting activities  

  • Build relationships with aligned sales team members to nurture leads through opportunity and ensure lead quality is driving conversion to pipeline and revenue  

  • Gather market intelligence and contribute to new product development in order to meet changing client needs.  

  • Provide internal reports to management as required.  

  • Participate in ongoing training / developmental programs.  

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience in sales / marketing / client services with B2B customers, preferably to the investment community.  

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics or Marketing.  

  • Understanding of financial markets and technology; knowledge of investment research products and current software technologies are a plus.  

  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively 

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.  

  • A high level of motivation, the drive to take initiative and work both independently and as a team member; a self-starter. Follow-through is an absolute must have.  

  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of activity to reach an aggressive set of sales goals and objectives.  

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and with structure, focus and determination.
