Assistant Professor-On-Call

Position Summary

The department of PA Medicine invites applicants for an on-call Assistant Professor who will co-instruct PA 992 Public Health and Disease Prevention course to PA Medicine students in the Summer of 2025.

Responsibilities/Duties: 

• Responsible to teach summer of 2025 the PA Medicine 992, Public Health and Disease Prevention course in collaboration with PA Medicine Faculty.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in physician assistant studies from an accredited program
• Current NCCPA Certification
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 2 years precepting/instructing PAs, PA students or medical students
• A valid physician assistant license for the State of Michigan or eligibility to obtain such licensure.

OR

• Doctoral degree, DO or MD with active Board certification and state licensure in Michigan or eligibility to obtain such licensure.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 2 years precepting/instructing PAs, PA students or medical students 

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated abilities in teaching and curriculum development.
• Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, administrators, and the public.
• Familiarity with the use of computers for organization, word processing, and communication.
• Enthusiastic about working in a collaborative environment.
• Self-motivated with refined organizational skills.
