Position Description
The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor within the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The position is based in Jackson, Mississippi, on the campus of the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).
Academic responsibilities include participation in the department’s education, scholarship, patient care, and service missions. In education, the candidate will participate in the PharmD curriculum, author teaching and assessment materials, and participate in the skills laboratory. The candidate will also provide pharmacy practice experiences (IPPE and APPE) for pharmacy students and precept residents/fellows. In scholarship, the candidate will be expected to contribute to research, publish results in peer-reviewed journals, and teach and mentor students in research experiences. The candidate will also be expected to develop or maintain an active pharmacy practice site. Preferred practice areas include internal medicine and ambulatory care, with other opportunities available based on individual strengths and departmental needs. In service, the candidate will serve the department, the school, and university according to needs and interest. Participation and leadership in professional and scientific organizations is encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE- accredited School/College of Pharmacy, with residency and/or fellowship training or commensurate pharmacy practice experience required, and be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a pharmacist in the State of Mississippi. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, service, scholarship, and competence as a clinician. Board certification and teaching experience is encouraged.
