Duties and Responsibilities: • Understands and adheres to all applicable Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) policies.

• Teaching and Direct Instructional Activities
o Lab/Simulation materials are prepared using evidence-based resources (textbooks, instructional aids, online resources, and materials).
o Lab/Simulation time organized to be accomplished in the allotted time.
o Instruction provided to individual students and groups appropriate to the needs and requirements of activities being performed.
o Attends labs on time and if unable to attend; ensures alternate method of delivery is available for students.
o Able to deliver content in a clear, concise manner that enhances student learning.
o Demonstrates varied methods of content delivery and use of instructional aids.
o Content expert in subject matter.
o Promotes discussion among students as well as learning and individual initiative.
o Provides constructive feedback in a timely manner on skills and simulation performance and documentation.
o Provides fair grading of student course work.
o Oversees students’ clinical practice in the clinical setting, on occasion if needed.
o Collaborates with faculty to develop and refine simulation scenarios to achieve the course expected outcomes based on student and faculty needs.
o Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates scenarios, simulated learning activities, and educational materials for all nursing courses in collaboration with nursing faculty.
o Collaborates with faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet course and clinical objectives in the nursing labs.
o Assists students and faculty in meeting course objectives through the utilization of the simulation and skills lab.
o Assists in the implementation of simulation standards and best practices and provides faculty with evidenced based guidelines to ensure positive and consistent learning experiences for students.
o Oversees the functioning and scheduling of all Nursing Skills Labs and the High-Fidelity Simulation Labs.
o Assists students upon faculty referral for skills lab remediation.
o Conducts high fidelity simulations including the debriefing process, formative evaluation of student activity during the scenarios, and the effectiveness of simulation activities. Provides feedback to students during simulation debriefing.
o Supports staff and faculty during the planning and running of simulation events preparing, applications, props placement, and moulage set up to create a realistic healthcare setting.
o Completes the physical set up and take down of a variety of healthcare simulation manikins and clinical lab environments with extreme attention to detail as assigned.
o Creates and maintains a respectful and professional working environment, incorporating active learning, reflective thinking, and a confidential debriefing process.
o Continuously updates and refines simulation experiences based on identified needs and to serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation in classroom/lab activities.
• Service to Students, Department, Division or College
o Maintains office hours as required.
o Submits reports and performs required record-keeping functions in a timely and dependable manner.
o Participates in School of Nursing and Allied Health (SoNAH) monthly meetings and standing committees as assigned. May include serving as committee chair.
o Accepts SoNAH service assignments such as recruiting, pinning and graduation activities.
o Professionally represents the institution in college-related outreach activities.
o May serve on advisory boards/committees.
o May apply academic expertise in the local, state, or national community.
o May sponsor student activities or groups.
o Participates in workshops/seminars.
o Assists students with advising and counseling activities related to academic, career and job placement areas.
