RN, Clinical Manager – Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Location: Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, WIEmployment Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE, Salaried)

About the RoleGundersen Health System is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Manager (RN) to lead our 20-bed Adult Intensive Care Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative leadership team and make a meaningful impact on patient care and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Adult ICU, SWAT RN Team, and Central Monitoring.
• Lead and support a team of ~80 RNs in ICU while overseeing the ICU Supervisor (~35 indirect reports, consisting of Critical Care Techs). 
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Operations Director, Medical Director to align unit goals with organizational priorities. 
• Drive performance improvement and staff engagement.

QualificationsRequired:

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• 5–7 years of clinical or equivalent healthcare experience with demonstrated leadership skills.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• 1 year of management experience.
• 3 years of critical care/ICU experience.

• Strong communication and follow through skills.
• Proven ability to lead and hold teams accountable.
• Passion for ICU nursing and patient safety.
• Experience with committee work, process improvement, and clinical projects.
