40RN, Clinical Manager – Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location: Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, WIEmployment Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE, Salaried)About the RoleGundersen Health System is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Manager (RN) to lead our 20-bed Adult Intensive Care Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative leadership team and make a meaningful impact on patient care and staff development.Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Adult ICU, SWAT RN Team, and Central Monitoring.
- Lead and support a team of ~80 RNs in ICU while overseeing the ICU Supervisor (~35 indirect reports, consisting of Critical Care Techs).
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Operations Director, Medical Director to align unit goals with organizational priorities.
- Drive performance improvement and staff engagement.
- 🏥 High-functioning, closed ICU with strong collaboration between nursing and clinician teams.
- 🌟 Engaged staff with low turnover and high Press Ganey scores.
- 👩⚕️ Strong and experienced nursing leadership team, including a Clinical Nurse Leader and Professional Development Nurse
- 📈 Growth opportunities through leadership development and mentorship
- 🤝 Strong interdisciplinary relationships with surgical, medical, and respiratory teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 5–7 years of clinical or equivalent healthcare experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- 1 year of management experience.
- 3 years of critical care/ICU experience.
- Strong communication and follow through skills.
- Proven ability to lead and hold teams accountable.
- Passion for ICU nursing and patient safety.
- Experience with committee work, process improvement, and clinical projects.
