We are proud to be a 938-bed hospital serving the Milwaukee community with excellence and compassion. Our Diagnostic Radiology Department is home to a collaborative team of 32 dedicated professionals, performing a wide range of studies including:

  • Fluoroscopy
  • Operating Room (OR)
  • Urology
  • GI/Pulmonary
  • Neurology
  • Pain Clinic
  • General X-ray

We also provide advanced therapy procedures, such as intrathecal chemotherapy injections, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.

The expectations are high; it’s not a typical Diagnostic Radiology lead role. We are seeking a dedicated Imaging Educator to lead and support educational initiatives within our diagnostic imaging department. This role is essential to ensuring staff competency, regulatory compliance, and continuous professional development through structured training and mentorship.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a resource to employees and students, which includes training/orienting, providing day-to-day work direction, and giving input on performance. Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work, monitors productivity, maintains appropriate staffing levels, directs efforts and provides guidance on more complex issues.
  • Assists with human resource responsibilities, which may include interviewing and selection of new employees, staff development, providing performance feedback, resolution of employee concerns, and employee morale.
  • Assists in interpreting department policies and procedures, and advises and updates staff on procedural changes. Identifies performance improvement opportunities within the department and facilitates change. Monitors inventory levels, labor productivity and assist with managing department resources.
  • Serves as a technical resource, role model and/or preceptor for students and staff. Facilitates clinical problem solving and collaborates with other departments across the system to provide education on managing patients after procedures and any other imaging department processes and procedures.
  • Proficiently performs basic to advanced radiologic procedures. Must perform and be proficient with all of the following procedures if performed at assigned facility which include general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, pain clinic, GI lab, urology, and c-arm procedures.
  • Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns. Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • Identifies patient and labels images pertaining to the patient, compares requisitions to physician's orders to ensure exam accuracy, and processes images ensuring quality of radiographs and calls back patients as necessary. Assists, communicates and consults with the Radiologists. Works independently outside the department with providers.
  • Oversees the maintenance of records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documents billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and ensures and/or performs equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff and evaluates new products and equipment.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
