SUMMARY
This position would report to the Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing audits by regulatory agencies and customers and manage/update-controlled documents. This includes preparation for audits by creation of an audit plan and ensuring all documentation and processes meet various AS9100, Nadcap, and customer requirements. Leading all audit activities during any quality audit and following up on audit responses. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring that our processes and documentation are compliant with applicable standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop suppliers to refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement methodology, key lean manufacturing/production principles, and techniques to assure quality of goods and services provided.
- Perform Quality System, Process, and Product audits of both current and new suppliers as needed to ensure conformance to drawing requirements and any applicable regulations or standards
- Participate in supplier-related Material Review Board (MRB) activities to disposition discrepant material, identify root cause, and implement corrective action
- Lead APQP/PPAP activities to ensure the proper qualification of new supplied parts, supplier process changes, and supplier transition/duplication efforts
- Support supply chain initiatives that include but are not limited to component/assembly VAVE activities, supplier spend consolidation, and supply risk mitigation strategies, to ensure the continued delivery of quality product.
- Drive action to correct supplier quality problems using scorecards and other KPI’s (CoSPQ, PPM, OTD, etc.)
- Conduct manufacturability reviews with suppliers for parts or assemblies to ensure proper capability and readiness for manufacturing parts.
- Responsible for the scheduling, assignment, prioritization, coaching, training and evaluation of the QC inspectors.
- Accountable for the performance of the QC inspectors in terms of effective inspections (preventing escapes) and productivity

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related degree is required
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience is required
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Design and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Working knowledge of CMM measurement, Vision system measurement, and general inspection techniques and best practices
- Experience in FMEA, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Ability to lead, mentor, and manage a small functional quality team.
- Must be self-directed
- Strong interpersonal team building skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications in ASQ - Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), Lean Six Sigma, or APQP/PPAP methodologies.
- Experience with tight-tolerance-machining, injection molding, casting, electronics manufacturing, and stamping.
- Experience with managing people
