JOB SUMMARY
The Security Analyst is a member of the Information Security team. This early- to mid-career position focuses on incident response and vulnerability management, supporting the university’s mission to protect its digital assets. This position ensure a secure computing environment for students, faculty, and staff.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors, investigates, and responds to security incidents using tools such as Palo Alto XSIAM, Proofpoint TAP/TRAP/EFD, and Okta
Conducts vulnerability assessments and manages remediation efforts using Rapid7 InsightVM and other tools
Collaborates with managed service providers and internal IT teams to ensure timely resolution of security issues
Assists in the development and refinement of incident response playbooks and procedures
Participates in threat hunting and proactive security monitoring activities
Maintains accurate documentation of incidents, vulnerabilities, and response actions
Supports compliance efforts and contribute to security awareness initiatives
Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Familiarity with SIEM platforms, EDR, email security, and identity management tools
Strong analytical skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree
Two or more years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably in incident response or vulnerability management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
Certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, or equivalent)
Experience in higher education or other mission-driven environments
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FERPA, HIPAA, or NIST
Residency in or near the St. Louis, MO area
