Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is looking to hire an experienced Financial Analyst to provide detailed financial and cost analysis for SRNL Research and Operations organizations.

Positions within the Professional Career Band typically require a university degree or equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts. Responsible for a wide range of activities including gathering data, organizing information, analyzing historical results, making forecasts and projections, making recommendations, and generating Excel models, presentations, and reports.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting to support SRNL activities.
- Interact with management and/or research staff to develop and manage projects and tasks for various scopes of work.
- Organize, develop, and maintain funds control, financial analysis, and forecasting applications.
- Prepare status and management reports that identify variances within the work execution strategy and recommend effective solutions.
- Utilize tools to maintain cost control throughout the life cycle of programs, operating under limited supervision.
Key Activities:
- Develop, implement, analyze, and maintain comprehensive project funding and execution baselines based on thorough analysis of project requirements by applying analysis and business system techniques to support customer.
- Assist in generating, checking, and analyzing data for accuracy while maintaining orderly records to ensure data audit trails are intact.
- Develop cost report formats as per internal and/or external customer requirements.
- Analyze cost trends to identify and troubleshoot potential problem areas proactively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a relevant field with 4-6 years of experience required.
- Strong foundation in theoretical knowledge and functional expertise generally obtained through formal education.
- Advanced communication skills to effectively address complicated topics.
- Demonstrated ability to apply common sense to resolve routine issues.
- Experience in generating and analyzing Excel models, presentations, and reports.
- Proficiency in developing internal alliances with team members outside the immediate department.
- Demonstrated understanding of organizational processes and their collaborative nature.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and adhering to policies and standards.
- Ability to maintain an appropriate level of government security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is legally required.
