Summary Description
- Put together equipment, help with line set up, blow out plugs with airline hose
- Weigh rework and record information on proper documentation.
- Take empty used carts directly to cart wash for washing.
- Maintain a steady flow of product into the stuffer to minimize down time.
- Assist on the line when possible to help reduce down time.
- Communicate with Processing Machine Operator and line personnel to reduce the amount of preventable rejected product.
- Take apart equipment at the end of run for sanitation crew.
- Wash equipment as needed for product changeovers.
- Other typical processing duties.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow our color code system in regard to food safety.
- Turn in paper work at the end of the day to the correct person
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Job Requirements
Food safety and quality are the responsibility of every individual working at Smithfield Foods. You are expected to:
- Follow USDA/SQF and GMP guidelines
- Stay focused on quality while maintaining speed
- Be able to work in a 38°F environment
- Ability to stand 8+ hours per day
- Able to lift up 50 lbs.
- Able to push/pull up to 500 lbs.
