Assistant Manager-Guest Services, Anchorage, AK

Our Anchorage Transportation and Guest Services team is looking for an Assistant Manager of Guest Services. You will supervise a seasonal Guest Services team and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and coordinates our Commercial Drivers License Luggage Truck training program and activities.
  • Supervises Guest Service activities including communication, luggage conveyance, sales and guest satisfaction.
  • Supports and manages employees with responsibilities at the Airport, company hotels, third part hotels and luggage mobility and storage.
  • Applies knowledge of company products, policies and procedures and customer service to ensure service excellence.
  • Performs “Manager on Duty” responsibilities.
  • Participates in guest services interviewing, selection and training of assigned personnel.
  • Responsible for the supervision, performance management, salary administration, and coaching of directly assigned personnel.

Requirements:

  • This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in guest services equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of an Associate’s degree. Demonstration of directly related work experience, may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in a business environment is required.
  • A current, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
  • A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one through our company paid training program.
  • Minimum age of 21 years of age is required to operate a commercial vehicle.
  • Must meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and you will be included in our company’s randomized drug testing program.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized reservations systems, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff. 
  • Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees, management and customers.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
