Your Role
The Clinical Pharmacy Programs team is responsible for development, implementation, coordination, and assessment of pharmacy programs addressing medication therapy issues of Blue Shield of California members to improve quality and cost-effectiveness. The Pharmacist Clinical Program Manager (CPM), Provider Partnerships will report to the Pharmacist Senior Manager, Provider Partnerships. In this role you will work with other Pharmacist CPMs within Pharmacy Services and others on the corporate Provider Partnership team to achieve shared goals and objectives. You will provide clinical pharmacy support to and manage relationships with Blue Shield of California provider partners in Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) and in the regional delivery network related to medication management programs and other clinical quality improvement initiatives to achieve shared goals.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Operate at a strategic business level to ensures projects/programs are in line with Blue Shield of California strategic goals
- Consult with all levels including senior management, make recommendations, and influence decision-making
- Effectively maneuver through organizational dynamics and tailor approach to ensure optimal outcome
- Plan and implement multiple and extremely complex projects/programs spanning across business areas
- Determine key business issues, develop effective action plans and implement to successful conclusion
Serve as a Blue Shield of California Pharmacy Services contact and subject matter expert to stakeholders and manage external relationships (vendors, clients) related to assigned work
Regularly monitor program data and metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and clinical outcomes, and report to appropriate committees, managers, and other internal and external stakeholders
Serve as a resource to Blue Shield of California team members regarding clinical use of drugs
Precept Blue Shield of California Pharmacy Practice Resident and pharmacy students, as assigned
Your Knowledge and Experience
Requires a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
Requires a currently active and unrestricted California Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills
Requires strong project/program management, analytic, and critical thinking skills
Requires thorough clinical knowledge of the therapeutic use of drugs
Requires direct client and provider interface experience at all levels, including senior management
