The National Account Director (NAD) position reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Accounts and serves as the lead contact for national payer customers, including Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), Medicaid Contract Administrators, Medicare PDP’s and other payer types as assigned. Assigned national accounts may include CVS, ESI, Optum, Prime Therapeutics/Magellan and their respective GPOs and aligned business entities.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimize access and reimbursement for Azurity Pharmaceutical’s products on formularies, prescription drug lists (PDLs), contract drug lists (CDLs), treatment protocols, and medical policies.
  • Leads and informs the Payer strategy for contracting and pull-through decisions, as a subject matter expert, providing timely and accurate national account and industry market insights.
  • Collaborates closely with the Senior Director, Strategic Accounts and Marketing colleagues to establish strategic and tactical plans that align with Azurity portfolio product goals.
  • Lead negotiations and contract development with assigned customers for profitable business, while protecting Gross to Net (GTN) for Azurity brands.
  • Partners with MASA colleagues, leading pull through activities at the regional level.
  • Maintains business planning documentation, providing regular updates to Senior Director.
  • Possess deep knowledge of priority Accounts' mission, goals, history, geographic presence/influence, structure, payer mix, financial performance, product coverage, performance, and executive leadership.
  • Maintain timely records and provide regular internal communications to inform on Azurity product status’, key business interactions and progress to goals.
  • A subject matter expert on your assigned customers’ business models and the US payer and access landscape, including recent and pending legislation, headwinds and trends impacting the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Represent Azurity Pharmaceuticals at industry meetings, trade shows and customer events, reporting back insights and opportunities to internal colleagues.
  • Build and execute a strategic business plan that contributes to the overall MASA department and corporate business results.
  • Analyze performance against contracts to ensure compliance with agreed upon metrics and report to internal teams during regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
  • Work cross functionally to support transparent and aligned communications with contracts and pricing, legal, finance, rebate administration colleagues.
  • Always adhere to relevant pharmaceutical industry regulatory and compliance guidelines and company policies in all business supported settings and industry meetings
  • Regular travel and adherence to all Travel and Expense regulations is expected - Travel is 50% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years' experience within the commercial pharmaceuticals industry with 2+ years working in a national account, customer facing, contracting role.
  • Strong business acumen and contracting experience with diverse payment models, books of business and benefit types.
  • Strong executive presence, public speaking, presentation development and platform skills, utilizing PowerPoint and Excel
  • Transparent, organized, strategic business management style with attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • High degree of integrity and ethics and support of Azurity’s core values
