Our site in Decatur, TX is seeking a Quality Technician to join our team.
HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE 7AM-3:30PM MONDAY-FRIDAY.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
What you'll do:
The Quality Technician's primary responsibility will be to conduct quality inspections of machined parts.
In this role you will:
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections on first article and last article production parts, including AS9102 FAIR’s (first article inspection reports)
- Prevent defective, non-conforming parts from reaching the customer.
- Document non-conforming material and give feedback to the individuals for root cause and corrective action.
- Review manufacturing records and prepare certificates of conformance (CoC) and dimensional inspection (CofD)
- Retrieve gages for calibration
- Perform Quality audits to ISO9001:2015/AS9100D and in-process audits, prepare associated reports, and follow-up on findings
- Perform Measurement System Analyses (MSA)
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Proficient in math and trigonometry
- High school education or GED equivalency.
- 2 plus years of similar experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education.
- Good aptitude working in a precision machine shop preferred
- Sound understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and interpreting drawings
- Experience using machine shop metrology and test equipment (MT&E) including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, profilometers, and coordinate measurement machines (CMM’s) is a plus
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Astute attention to detail to drive Safety and Quality;
- Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
- Work any shift as required to meet business needs;
- Able to safely lift 50 pounds;
- Able to pass pre-employment physical;
- Experience in working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment a plus;
- Candidate must have the capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws.
