Position Overview
The Operational Excellence team, located in Uhrichsville, OH, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist. This position fosters a collaborative approach to develop, lead and coach Uhrichsville Works to complete Novelis Operating System (NOS) strategy, plan, and activities.
Responsibilities:
- Developing safe spaces for conversation amongst teams to suggest innovative solutions and procedures, contributing to the plant’s safety culture.
- Supporting all Centers of Excellence and loss teams by attending meetings as required.
- Supporting Improvement Process Cycle (IPC) and Single Agenda.
- Positively engaging in change management initiatives and support the plant by effectively communicating change.
- Being responsible for facilitation of Routine Management meetings.
- Actively being a member of various teams including, but not limited to: Routine Management Lead Team, the Deployment Team, and SI Center of Excellence.
- Leading Continuous Improvement events, track engagement and, in turn, search for ways to increase employee engagement.
- Being accountable for training teams on different tools and platforms (ie. 5y, Prob Solving, NOS play books and tools) to achieve set Plant Goals.
- Track and lead all aspects of project progression as it relates to continuous improvement.
- Supporting monthly reporting to various partners such as NNA regional team members, plant leadership, and shop floor.
- Maintaining Continuous Improvement scorecards and storyboards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years of process engineering, automation, or manufacturing experience.
- Experience with analysis tools such as MS Excel, Project, Power BI, Minitab.
- 2+ years of experience facilitating, coaching, and implementing TPM, Lean, kaizen/six sigma events and driving lean transformation with proven results and implementations in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to obtain Six Sigma Green Belt or greater certification.
- Proven ability to work independently and successfully facilitate cross functional teams, while implementing improvement within an established time frame.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized, high energy, data driven, and results oriented.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills by developing credibility and rapport with leadership, peers, and plant personnel to implement change without direct supervisory control.
- Enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment and able to be flexible and adapt quickly.
- Effective communicates verbally and through written communication.
- Creativity in problem solving, collaboratively, resulting in quick and innovative solutions,
- Ability to positively lead change in response to shifting demands, as well as multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
