POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Manager - Production. Our Manager of Production Drives a performance-based culture, with specific focus on yield, uptime, throughput, employee development, and safety training, while building a team of engaged employees. Directs and coordinates activities of planning and receiving personnel, support personnel, as well as all production departments in processing materials within Sonaca North America.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews production orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates, in order to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for processing parts.
- Oversees the development of work teams to ensure the efficient and effective accomplishment of the company’s goals and objectives.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates processing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational issues to ensure minimum costs and to prevent operational delays.
- Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and/or improvement.
- Develops and/or revises standard operational and working practices to ensure compliance with standards.
- Leads employees in career progression and learning through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
- Encourages subordinates to strive for operational excellence by continually challenging old methods or ways of thinking and taking responsible risks to maximize results; serves as a role model in innovative thinking and process improvement.
- Directly supervises production and support supervisors.
- Plans, schedules, coordinates and assigns work and establishes goals and priorities for subordinate employees.
- Delegates responsibility and authority to subordinate staff.
- Implements and interprets policies and procedures developed by other members of the senior management. Develops, recommends and coordinates the implementation of new procedures.
- Formulates performance standards in relation to Sonaca North America behaviors; provides ongoing feedback; conducts bi-annual evaluations; and initiates personnel actions for subordinates.
- Assesses and approves performance evaluations and personnel actions of production employees.
- Handles customer-supplied product with care.
- Strives to meet and exceed customer expectations by adhering to Sonaca North America’s quality standards.
- Practices Sonaca North America behaviors. Adheres to protocol for quality and on-time delivery.
- Adheres to all safety requirements and enforces compliance.
- Manages time effectively so that production schedules are met.
- Interacts professionally with co-workers and vendors; understands internal customers; and strives to maintain good relations with others.
- Responds quickly to inquiries and follows up as needed.
- May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by business demands.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5 – 8 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing/processing plant
- Experience with lean manufacturing
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions one-on-one from groups or individuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems, utilizing standard operating procedures.
- Ability to interpret information furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form, to determine the best course of action among various alternatives.
- Aerospace industry knowledge preferred.
