Job Description Summary

The Korb Lab is seeking a Research Specialist to participate in ongoing research projects in the fields of neuroscience and epigenetics with the goal of understanding how epigenetic regulation of gene expression contributes to learning, memory, and neurodevelopmental disorders. The position will include actively participating in multiple projects and experiments using techniques such as neuronal cell culture, PCR, RNA isolation and analysis, protein analysis, chromatin-immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, microscopy, mouse behavioral testing, next generation sequencing sample preparation, bioinformatic analysis, and more. This position will also help with general lab organization including helping with general lab organization and some mouse breeding and colony management. Training, project feedback, and experimental design guidance will be provided by both senior graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and Dr. Korb.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with mouse colony and perform mouse behavioral testing.
• Perform molecular and cell biology experiments.

•  Attend lab meeting and research seminars and discuss research progress with lab members and PI.

•  Support general lab organization.

•  Data analysis and present research.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Position contingent on funding
