Job Description

We are looking for a Sustainability Manager for our fast-growing business in the Netherlands. This is a new role created because of the growth of our pipeline and the continuously evolving standards for sustainable development. When it comes to sustainability, our approach is to be proactive and help set the standard. Done well, sustainability is pivotal to our commercial success. As part of this role you will: 

  • Be part of the larger development support team, consisting of a varied group of colleagues with vast knowledge of public affairs, grid, GIS and business development. This team works across all technologies in wind, solar, battery storage and hydrogen in the widest sense from their expertise area’s
  •  Support and guide the project development teams on biodiversity and social engagement with local communities for all different technologies
  • Support the project delivery unit team with your expertise in sustainability during the construction and operation of our renewable assets
  • Support the country manager on some overarching sustainability responsibilities on a country level and applicable to all our activities and employees in the Netherlands
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining the annual Dutch sustainability action plan factoring in the Dutch projects in development and construction, our assets, Statkraft strategic objectives for sustainability and local legislation
  •  Share best practice and standards; inspire and educate the business
  • Be responsible for ensuring our assets are monitored to meet ongoing environmental requirements and that the quarterly reporting process is carried out efficiently and accurately

Qualifications

  • Masters degree or equivalent preferably in sustainability related fields
  • A combination of experience from commercial and sustainability roles, preferably within renewable energy sector
  • Experience of working on environmental, social and human rights issues
  • Ability to sell the commercial benefits of sustainable development
  • Strategy, planning and implementation skills
  • A track record of excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A networker influencer and creative thinker, with proven track record of working in complex organisations
  • Fluent Dutch and English language skills
