The KC-46 Aerial Refueling Systems team is seeking a highly motivated, capable, and quick learning senior engineer to join our team. The KC-46 Aerial Refueling Systems team is made up of a diverse set of engineers that design, develop, test, certify, and support the following systems: aerial refueling boom, hose and drogue, aerial refueling operating station, and the remote vision system. In this role, the engineer will be the systems architect and lead engineer for the Aerial Refueling Operator Station system. They will own the technical requirements, configuration, critical hardware, and software and hardware architecture across the entire product lifecycle, integrating across multiple Boeing teams, external customers, and suppliers to ensure a quality system is designed, manufactured, tested, and maintained as part of the KC-46 platform. The ideal candidate will have a background in hardware and software architecture, requirements definition, civil and military certification.
Who We Are: The KC-46 Aerial Refueling Systems Team works with suppliers, and cross-engineering functions to support the KC-46 production, fleet, and development projects. The high-performing and fast-paced team provides expert technical direction and assistance to the KC-46 Program, customers, and suppliers on aerial refueling systems design, build, modification, operation, testing, and maintenance.
Position Responsibilities:
Technical ownership and oversight of the Aerial Refueling Operator Station (AROS) engineering and architecture, computerized hardware and software architecture and functionality
Works with cross-functional engineering teams and aerial refueling operators to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Provides support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs
Review aerial refueling system design changes and develop aerial refueling system requirements and architecture for development projects
Conduct aerial refueling system functional, performance, and regression laboratory, ground, and flight testing
Conduct analysis to show compliance to military specifications and civil aviation regulations
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
9+ years of work-related experience plus a Bachelor’s degree OR 3+ years of work-related experience plus a Master’s degree OR work-related experience plus a PhD
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with DOORS
Experience in aerial refueling systems design, operations, training, and/or testing
Experience as a Hardware and/or Software Engineer
Basic understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering
