Job Description

We're making a bitcoin wallet for the next 100M bitcoin users. Our goal is economic empowerment -- starting with bringing easy-to-use, reliable wallet that helps people around the world own and manage their bitcoin, rather than having to rely on a number of tools and services that don’t work well together and are challenging to use for a wide global audience.

We are hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer to build the software that customers use to interact with our bitcoin wallet.

You will:

• Ship a non-custodial, hardware-enabled bitcoin wallet to a global audience
• Craft an intuitive user experience that makes ownership of bitcoin accessible
• Work closely with designers, product managers, firmware and backend engineers to establish product scope prioritize features that maximize customer value
• Make key architecture and infrastructure decisions as you develop the product from the ground up
• Own experiences driven by Kotlin Multiplatform in our Mobile Application and Rust in our backend services
• Own testing, observability, and maintenance for the services you and the team create

Qualifications

You have:

• 6+ years of experience with the full lifecycle of critical production services. Ideally in one of { Rust, Java, Kotlin, Go, Ruby }
• Experience with designing and building APIs between mobile applications and backend services
• Interest in the opportunities and challenges that come with building a global-first product from the ground up
• Bonus: Experience developing for bitcoin/cryptocurrency applications

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $202,500 - USD $247,500
Zone B: USD $192,400 - USD $235,200
Zone C: USD $182,300 - USD $222,800
Zone D: USD $172,200 - USD $210,400
