What you will be doing:
AI Governance Leadership
- Act as a senior practitioner and subject‑matter expert for AI governance and security.
- Lead the operational application of the organisation’s AI governance framework, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across business units.
- Guide teams through complex AI governance decisions, balancing security, compliance, innovation, and delivery timelines.
Advanced Risk & Compliance Assurance
- Lead and perform complex AI risk assessments, including:
- high‑risk or regulated AI use cases
- advanced DPIAs relating to AI data usage
- critical third‑party AI supplier assessments
- Interpret emerging regulations (e.g. EU AI Act) and translate them into:
- security requirements
- control expectations
- assurance activities
- Provide expert input into governance forums and risk sign‑off decisions.
Policy, Standards & Control Development
- Own and continuously improve AI‑related security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Define and maintain detailed control guidance, templates, and assessment artefacts.
- Ensure AI governance controls are embedded into:
- architecture review
- change management
- procurement and third‑party risk processes
Monitoring, Metrics & Reporting
- Define meaningful AI governance KPIs, KRIs, and assurance metrics.
- Provide high‑quality risk and compliance reporting to:
- Information Security leadership
- Risk committees and councils
- Audit and regulatory stakeholders
- Identify recurring issues and drive systemic improvements.
Stakeholder Influence & Enablement
- Act as a trusted advisor to:
- engineers and data scientists
- architects and product owners
- privacy, legal, and compliance teams
- Mentor junior analysts and support capability uplift within the team.
- Lead awareness initiatives on secure and responsible AI use.
What do you bring with you:
Essential
- Senior‑level experience in information security, risk, governance, or compliance.
- Demonstrated experience influencing decisions without formal authority.
- Strong working knowledge of:
