Enterprise Architect

JOB SUMMARY

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for driving delivery excellence, optimizing engineering processes, and establishing and enforcing development standards across the Product Engineering organization. This role focuses on improving engineering velocity, quality, and predictability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and technical craftsmanship. It is a highly collaborative role, partnering with engineering, QA, and product management teams to understand what is currently in place, what practices should be in place, how to evolve, and how to build a culture of alignment and trackable accountability to practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partners with engineering, product management, and QA teams to understand current frameworks and practices; use to drive evolution and implement changes to ensure cross-organizational best-practices in the Product Engineering organization
• Ensures reliable and predictable software delivery and how technical teams interact across various processes inclusive of agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, data management, infrastructure, and release management practices
• Ensures processes and practices are in place, documented, and understood. Take feedback and evolve as necessary
• Collaborates with Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on delivery priorities
• Identifies delivery bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve overall throughput
• Establishes and maintains coding standards, architecture guidelines, and design patterns to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software
• Leads the adoption of best practices in code reviews, automated testing, and documentation, engaging in personal code review as appropriate; work with engineers as needed to ensure adoption of practices
• Defines and enforces security, performance, and compliance standards across development projects
• Reviews architecture and technical design submissions as part of SDLC and provide actionable feedback to engineering teams to meet roadmap deliverables
• Establishes a forum for knowledge sharing, training, and collaborating on standards and practices
• Provides final determination around what frameworks/tools/etc. are endorsed for use within the itel technology stack
• Partners with InfoSec teams to ensure dev-ops requirements are understood and being met
• Continuously evaluates tools and technologies to enhance engineering productivity and quality and partner with InfoSec and IT teams to ensure tools are identified, budgeted, supported, or sunset to support needs of organization
• Acts as a thought leader and advocate for engineering excellence across the organization
• Mentors engineering leaders and teams on delivery discipline and quality practices
• Builds cross-functional relationships with Product Management, QA, and Infrastructure teams

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in software engineering
• At least 3 years in a leadership role focused on delivery excellence or engineering enablement
• Proven track record of improving engineering delivery, quality, and efficiency at scale
• Strong experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies
