Senior Service Officer Offender Financial
Location – Parramatta (Sydney)
Employment type – Ongoing – Full Time (35 hours per week)
Clerk Grade 5/6 - Salary – $99,938.00 - $110,271 (plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)
Your role
Support the Offender Financials’ team in the delivery of timely and accurate services in accordance with Service Partnership Agreements (SPAs), ensuring customer focus, service performance, process integrity and capability.
Provide support to correctional centres’ finance and administration teams and manages key processes relating to the offender financial process such as the processing of payments, issuance of cheques and general ledger account reconciliations.
What you’ll do
- Comply with relevant policies and procedures and customer experience principles in interactions with clients to meet SPAs and the expectations of Corrective Services NSW.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of knowledge documents and promote to ensure the use of agreed methods, tools and knowledge to support timeliness, efficiency and consistency in providing services, support and advice on offender finances.
- Create a positive customer experience providing services, support and advice on finance services using knowledge base and escalating unresolved complex issues to the Team Leader.
- Follow agreed processes to maintain data within the finance system ensuring changes are authorised within Department delegations, ensuring data timeliness, accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of and interpret financial payments, legislation, policies and procedures. Complete manual calculations and adjustments to ensure the integrity of all finance transactions.
- Manage day to day processing and customer service requests, electronic and manual processing, recording of journals, expenses and revenue in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with legislative, audit and departmental requirements ensuring confidentiality is maintained when dealing with sensitive information
- Complete accurate reconciliation of offender financials related bank and general ledger accounts whilst ensuring financial records are accurate.
- Proactively identify and resolve offender finance related new risks or any matters that could increase risks and deal with complex matters and respond to enquiries/escalations regarding offender finances ensuring that SPA’s are met, and the integrity of offender accounts is maintained.
What we’re looking for
- Someone who will be the expert for the team on financial analysis, so strong financial acumen is required. And an ability to reconcile large volumes of financial data for all Correctional Centres Inmates will be essential.
- Someone who can easily backfill by stepping into management roles, where providing advice on all “finance related” matters (not just inmate-related) is the focus.
