About the role

Job Summary
Provide guidance and front-line coordination to production workers and tend to machines designed to
process materials according to exacting standards of work orders. Acts as point-of-contact for whole
production area, ensures coworkers are trained and following standards, and communicates issues to
Maintenance Technicians and Production Supervisors/Managers. Standard work week 40 hours a week
with occasional overtime, no travel required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Distributes workload to Operator I, II, & III and Lead I to ensure all work standards are being met
and required training is being completed.
• Monitors production flow and makes changes throughout the day to maximize productivity and
efficiency.
• Assist Production Supervisor in evaluating operators’ activities, performing documented coaching
and/or training necessary so workers meet the required production standards including safety and
quality.
• Works in various production areas, based on company need, making production parts,
documenting logs/reports, and/or entering data into work center computer interface. Delegates
any of these tasks to area workers as needed to best meet safety, qualify, and efficiency.
• Process production paperwork and communicate with Operator I, II, & III, Lead I, and Production
Supervisor/Manager for materials or product needed to fill production orders.
• Track and postproduction output measurements, including production hours works and any other
hours used for non-production projects.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and make 5S improvement in the production area.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Highly motivated with a good, sound work ethic.
• 2-4 years + related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
• Ability to follow CWT’s policies, procedures, and processes.
• Ability to lead and assist various departments within the production area.
• Good communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding and ability to apply construction math skills, including adding and subtracting
fractions, calculating board feet (BFT) and cubic feet (CF) and basic geometry.
• Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers) and to safely use hand tools.
• Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks in fast-paced situations.
Education and Experience:
• Required:
o High School Diploma or GED is Preferred
o Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
o 2-4 years prior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Working Conditions:
• Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside
temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to
increased noise levels.
• Hours worked: 8-10 hours/shift, varies on shift schedule and business volume.
• Flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours when required.
• Heavy, stationary machinery on manufacturing floor.
• Radio, Calculator, Measuring Devices.
• Hand tools.
• Computer (Shop Floor and ERP)

Per the state’s Wage Transparency Act, the range for this position is 31.43-48.64.  Actual salary could be greater based on education, experience, and other qualifying skill sets.
