Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Physical Education Teacher to join our Easterseals NH team! The individual in this key position will provide direct instruction and implement curriculum for physical education and recreation activities. If you have a passion for teaching students about the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices, this is the role for you!
Responsibilities include:
- Develop safe and effective lesson plans that promote physical fitness and skill development.
- Encourage students to participate in a physical activity, fostering teamwork and social skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students and their individual needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into the overall school curriculum. * Maintain and organize equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and functional learning environment.
- Stay up to date on current research and best practices in physical education to continually improve teaching methods and approaches.
- Promote lifelong physical activity and wellness habits in students, empowering them to lead healthy, active lives.
- Adapt the physical education curriculum as needed to meet the needs of all students.
- Collaboration with the residential educational wellness team to promote healthy food choices.
- Plan and implement program-wide events that promote wellness, such as field day or walking programs, etc.
Qualifications:
- New Hampshire Beginning Educator License with Physical Education endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Recreational Therapy, Physical Education, Special Education, Rehabilitation or equivalent
- One (1) year experience in a setting working with children with disabilities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Compensation: Starting $68,000 annually. Additional compensation based upon experience and education.
Hours: This is a full-time, 40 hour/week role. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm.
