Jefferson Healthcare is looking for curious, thorough, customer service minded individuals to participate in our Care Team Specialist I Trainee program and to join our team in these limited term positions.
Care Team Specialists (Medical Receptionists) are important liaisons between the medical care team and the patients. The role of a Care Team Specialist is both dynamic and engaging within the healthcare sector. This position involves interacting with diverse individuals in the hospital environment, gathering essential information, assisting patients with scheduling and navigation, and supplying clinical teams with the necessary information to deliver high-quality care. The training program will equip you with knowledge about these responsibilities and allow you to develop the skills needed to operate effectively in a medical office setting, ensuring that patients have a smooth and successful healthcare experience.
The trainee program will be 6 weeks long and will teach individuals excellent customer service by training you on greeting and registering arriving patients, answering patient calls, scheduling appointments, collecting insurance and co-pay information, and maintaining waiting room areas.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to learn and grow. They will also have strong communication skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and have a passion for helping others. Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, answering patient phone calls, and maintaining a clean and welcoming waiting area. The ability to learn to multitask and handle patient inquiries with sensitivity and professionalism is a must. Schedule: 32 hours/week; 6 week limited term program
Trainee Cohorts will run the following dates and candidates must be available during the entire timeframe of one of these cohorts:
- Jan 6 - Feb 7 (recruiting December 2024)
- Feb 17 - March 21 (recruiting January 2025)
- March 31 - May 2 (recruiting February/March 2025)
- Possible May 12 -June 13 (if needed, recruiting March/April 2025)

What you'll need:
- High School degree or equivalent required
- One year of related experience in a customer service setting preferred -
- Must stay current in knowledge base and meet Hospital-mandated education requirements
- candidates with Customer Service experience are encouraged to apply!
- Experience answering high volumes of phone calls preferred
