About the role
Location: Work on-site in Japan. ECC is seeking an Site Superintendent for a ground-up construction project for a seven-story hotel in Japan. This project is anticipated to start in February or March 2025 in country and is expected to span approximately 2.5 years. In this position, you will:

- Coordinate with the Project Engineer, Health and Safety Officer, and Quality Control Officer for interaction of task prioritization
- Compliance with health and safety and quality control requirements as identified by functional officers
- Assist and lead in achieving task requirements
- Key implementers of field activities and tasks preparatory to field activities
- Assist in identifying and performing general labor tasks to achieve project objectives under the direction of the Project Manager
- Contribute methods of approach and identify solutions to logistical or operational challenges
- Assist in identifying task-specific equipment to achieve the objectives of a task.
- Assume the role of team lead to assist the quality control officer and health and safety officer in maintaining compliance with project work plans, standard operating procedures, and sound field practices while achieving project objectives
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
- Ability to coordinate with staff on various task assignments and field activities
- Knowledge of federal contracting regulations and requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as site superintendent on large construction projects (commerical building, schools, hospitals, hotels).
- Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location with periodic travel home with project management approval.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Science, or a Construction related field from an accredited institution. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- Previous experience working on international projects preferred.
- Proven track record in ground-up, multi-story construction projects.
- Federal government client experience (USACE, NAVFAC, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience managing projects with budgets of $10 million or more.
