THE ROLE

The Server for the Maryland Club is based out of the XFINITY Center in College Park, MD, and reports to the Food & Beverage Manager. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to members in the Maryland Club’s private restaurant, bar, and lounge. Servers are responsible for ensuring prompt, professional, and personalized service while fostering a welcoming and upscale atmosphere for members and their guests.

 

Essential Functions

• Provide high-end table service to members and guests in the restaurant, bar, and lounge areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Memorize menus, features, and beverages to answer member inquiries and make tailored recommendations.
• Ensure all orders are accurately entered into the POS system and communicated to the kitchen and bar.
• Deliver food and beverages efficiently and professionally while adhering to presentation standards.
• Follow proper steps of service, including precise table mise en place for each course and maintaining appropriate pacing to ensure a seamless dining experience.
• Anticipate member needs and provide proactive service to create a seamless and elevated experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining spaces, including table arrangements and polishing serviceware.
• Support beverage service by learning and recommending wine, spirits, and cocktail pairings to enhance the dining experience.
• Handle member and guest feedback gracefully, escalating concerns to the management team when necessary.
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with local regulations and club standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service operations and foster a positive environment.
• Perform side work, restocking, and other duties as assigned to support the ongoing success of the Maryland Club.

 

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in an upscale restaurant, private club, or fine dining environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and service standards in an upscale setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on hospitality and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with POS systems.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the club’s hours of operation.
• Passion for creating memorable experiences and maintaining a high level of professionalism.

 

Compensation

Hourly rate, commensurate with experience, plus gratuities. This role may be eligible for Legends’ comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid vacation, and access to a 401k plan.
