Building & Grounds Specialist (Grounds Maintenance Worker 1)
This recruitment is for one (1), regular, full-time position located in Salem, OR (4190 Aumsville Hwy SE) and is represented by Oregon Public Safety Association. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants and may be used to fill future vacancies.

What you will be doing:
This position is responsible for addressing the care of the grounds. Common duties include,
- Using manual or power equipment to mow, edge, aerate, thatch lawns or landscape beds.
- Plant, cut, trim, prune, transplant, fertilize and water lawns, shrubs, bedding plants, ground cover, and trees using hand or power equipment.
- Remove organic debris from campus facilities: including roofs, drainage areas, utility tunnels, streets and sidewalks, lawns, parking lots, building entrances, lobbies, hallways and stairwells, and adjacent roadways and sidewalks. Empty trash cans as needed; transport litter, plant debris, and trash to appropriate facilities.
- Maintain building entry spaces via sweeping and mopping.
- Troubleshoot and complete minor repairs on tools and equipment. Refer major repairs to appropriate staff.
- Initiate purchase requests for parts, supplies and equipment when necessary.
