About the role
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our Human Resources team and has a new opportunity for a Director Workforce Reporting & Analytics. This position will lead the design and execution of workforce data, reporting, and analytics strategies across the organization. This position is responsible for designing and overseeing the production of data-driven reports, dashboards, and analytics that provide actionable insights to Human Resources, senior leaders, and executives. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer (SVP, CHRO).

What you’ll do
- Design and oversee the creation of comprehensive, data-driven reports, dashboards, and visualizations that track key performance indicators (KPIs) for business functions as defined by divisional leadership.
- Define and execute the strategy for workforce reporting and analytics, ensuring that reports provide accurate, relevant, and timely insights for decision-making.
- Lead enterprise-wide workforce analytics initiatives, collaborating cross-functionally to generate actionable hiring insights and inform strategic talent planning and organizational growth.
- Develop best practices and standardized processes for reporting, ensuring data integrity, quality, and consistency across all reporting and analytics initiatives. Establish and enforce data governance practices, ensuring compliance with relevant data privacy and security standards.
- Examine business performance metrics to detect trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement throughout the organization, thereby advancing operational effectiveness.
- Work closely with senior leadership to define and refine business metrics, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the financial planning and analysis department to provide historical trends along with current state of operations to provide both long-term and short-term forecasting for financial planning.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for business reporting and analytics across departments, ensuring that the data and insights provided meet business needs.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand business reporting requirements, offering tailored reporting solutions to support business decision-making.
- Analyze group health insurance reporting to identify trends, develop actionable insights, and provide clear recommendations that inform decision-making and drive improvements in cost management, plan design, and employee engagement.
- Leverage AI technologies to drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and predictive analytics. Use AI-driven insights to refine performance metrics and enhance reporting capabilities, ensuring that the organization remains agile and data-driven in its decision-making.
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. In lieu of degree, a minimum of an additional 3 years' progressive, relevant experience required.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in data analysis and reporting required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience leading teams required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Exceptional business acumen with the ability to link workforce data to the business.
- Demonstrated ability of using advanced analytics to translate research and data into key insights, creating value to improve business processes and decisions.
- Deep knowledge of data governance, data quality, and compliance requirements (EEO, HIPAA, etc.).
- Demonstrated familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP) and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
