Senior Software Engineer - Onboard Data & Application Software

Mission Summary

The Onboard Data and Application Software team develops the infrastructure to enable the development of autonomous vehicle software in areas such as consuming data from sensors, communicating with vehicle systems, and reading maps to navigate and augment the vehicle’s perception of the world around it. Our engineers play a key role in making the vehicle of the future a reality by developing technologies that deliver a turnkey, fully autonomous driving system for our customers. What you’ll be doing

• Designing, implementing, testing, integrating, migrating, and supporting platform software features
• Reviewing and refining of technical requirements, and translating them into high-level design and plans, to support the development of safe autonomous vehicle technology
• Participating in the shaping of our future pipelines, frameworks and APIs, that provide access to sensors, mapping data, health monitoring, configuration management, and other vehicle platform subsystems
• Conducting code and design reviews for work done by peers, and advising peers and management on technical matters
• Mentoring junior engineers in the team on industry practices and technical matters

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience in C++ software development and understanding best practices of modern C++
• Professional experience in multi-threaded C++ and Python in a Unix/Linux environment
• Industry experience in system design and the full cycle of software development
• Experience in collaborating with hardware engineers on device integration
• Ability to take full ownership of a development field, to self manage, and mentor others in areas of expertise
• Ability to propose different solutions to problems, to allow different risk tradeoffs
• Experience developing accelerated platforms based on NPUs, GPUs, and TPUs

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs. Salary Range$190,800—$248,400 USD
